ANy thoughts on this boot? I searched and it seems that VEGA and NITRO are all the same company/boot. I did have a pair of the NITROs on last year and they fit well but that was before trackdays and Richard's explanation of cheap vs expensive boots.

Im thinking of getting them. Before I commit I wanted to gather your advice, gents.

spend $ and buy better boots they'll last longer and probably cost less in the long run.

Get boots w/ some solid soles. Tekyguy bought some not so sturdy ones and wore holes in his soles. The holes were from him standing on his pegs at track days.

Spend the extra $100 and get some Alpinestars, or TCX's.

I would not get those boots. I had Nitro's and they BLEW! Uncomfortable and garbage. I picked up some SIDI boots for $230 at kneedraggers and they rock so far!

Well ... looks like this will be last year for track days for a bit ... anything I buy will only get used this year.

Better boots would be great but is the investment worth it? The thing Im throwing around is whether or not I can afford to keep my bike AND law school (no working first year) ... so its all kinda up in the ayre (I couldnt resist).

Now if a few laps in I turn out to be the next Stoner or Rossi, well then fuck law school!

better to spend the money now and not have to buy twice. i've had my alpinestars sm-x+ (gore tex) for more than 6 yrs now. i'll probably get a new pair this year. something that fits a little more snug. i'lm shooting for sm-x r's for $300.

same goes for helmets, gloves, and jackets. too bad my bike doesn't follow this trend...
